40kW of PV for Exeter Community Energy

ECOE (Exeter Community Energy) PV system goes live at Shillingford Organics, Exeter

ECOE is an innovative, community-owned cooperative that enables local people to take ownership of renewable energy projects. Community energy schemes help strengthen communities, boost the local economy and reconnect people to the energy they use.

System details

  • 1 x 25kW and 1 x 15kW systems
  • Panels: 160 x Solar World Sunmodule 250 watt modules
  • Inverters: 3 x Solar Edge inverters using optimisers to maximise generation

The 1 x 25kW and 1 x 15kW PV arrays fitted at Shillingford Organics in Exeter were the first systems to be installed under the ECOE scheme. As a supplier of organic produce, Shillingford Organics has relatively high processing and refrigeration costs, so will really benefit financially from the lower-priced electricity supplied by ECOE.
